Not So Modern Drummer / Zildjian / Ludwig /ADC Announces Alan White Clinic in Liverpool
ADC Percussion has been the distributor for the UK since early June and is doing a smashing job. William F. Ludwig III, B-III, publisher announced last month that Alan White from Yes will be attending the Amsterdam show, signing autographs at the NSMD booth.
After the show B-III and Alan will travel to Liverpool visit ADC's store, and the following day October 25th conduct a clinic at the Cavern Club. B-III will do an opening slot discussing life as a Ludwig, the early years of Ludwig Drum Company and how he ended up publishing the greatest vintage magazine, followed by the clinic. Alan will be performing with one of the most notable Yes tribute bands Seyes, and discuss song writing, soloing, and song structure, as well as his new band project "White", cd released on Renaissance Records. Alan will be in Sweden prior to this event playing a tribute concert for John Lennon on October 9th, the occasion of his 66th birthday. Alan will be participating in a Celebrity Home Run derby (photos here) on Sunday, July 30 at approximately 6 pm, following the Everett Aquasox game. Also competing will be former Everett Silvertips captain Mitch Love and Kyle Annesely as well as current Silvertips Head Coach Kevin Constantine, Pat Cashman, Seattle Times Sportswriter Percy Allen, former UW and former NFL Tight End Cam Cleeland, Heavyweight Boxer Vili Bloomfield, former Stanwood High School basketball player and current UW Point Guard Ryan Appleby, and former Snohomish High School star basketball player and current UW Power Forward Jon Brockman. Here are a few pictures from the recent Lawyerpalooza event: Alan with Spike O'Neill, from KZOK; Alan and Spike with Mike Nesteroff, organizer of the event and participant; the jam session at the end of the night. Alan was impressed with the level of talent this year—there were some great bands. The event raised money for the Seattle Public Schools Elementary Music programs.

Alan was due to hit the road in May, drumming for Syn as they tour the U.K. That tour has now been cancelled.
May appearances: Alan will be participating in Woodstick 2006, on Saturday, May 13 and Lawyerpalooza, on Thursday, May 18, 2006.
An article written by Jesse White (at left with Alan and Gigi), appears in the April/May issue of Virtual Instruments magazine. Jesse also recently assisted Klaus Badelt in scoring the soundtrack for the new movie, Poseidon.
Two pictures of Alan, along with Eric Clapton, Klaus Voorman, John Lennon and Yoko Ono appear on pages 338-339 of the book The Beatles Unseen (released in the UK). The pictures show the group relaxing poolside at John's estate between takes for the 'Imagine' album. The book incorrectly places these photographs as being taken in Toronto, following the Live Peace concert.

Please join Alan, Geoff, Steve, Kevin and Karl at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle on Monday, April 17 to celebrate the release of the debut album from White. Festivities begin at 7:30.

Alan and Gigi are continuing their involvement with Music Aid Northwest, serving on the board of directors for 2006. They are also continuing their association with the Seattle Theatre Group's Center Stage Council.

On April 7, Alan will make an appearance at a fundraiser at Seattle's Premier Club (1700 1st Avenue South), to help raise money for Seattle musician James Robles, who's family recently lost their home to a fire. Admission is free, and donations are being taken to help the Robles' get back on their feet. Doors open at 8 PM. Click here to download a PDF poster to help spread the word.

Alan is working with a Seattle-area high school percussion ensemble, ConunDrum, mentoring them for their upcoming "Moore Music at the Moore" performance on April 1st.

"Well everyone, at long last I am very happy to announce that the White album is now officially slated for release! Steve, Kevin, Karl, Geoff and myself are all very excited about this and are looking forward to finally being able to share this wonderful music with you.
There will be both a digital version of the album released (via Orchard Group), for the Ipod users out there as well as a traditional CD that will be out April 18th! The CD is being released on Rennesaince Records, and will be in stores near you, as well as Amazon.com etc.
We'll provide updates and links/locations to get the album as we get closer to the release.
Thank you all for being so supporting and patient while we sorted out the release of this album. We're all very proud of it and look forward to playing it for you live, so stay tuned for tour dates as well!"
