Friday, November 21ST, Alan will be making a guest appearance with Shelly and the Curves, who are scheduled to play at 9PM as part of the Washington State University Cougar Rally! The event will be hosted by longtime friend, Jeff Aaron. Go Cougs!

Contrary to an article printed in the Coast to Coast section of the September issue of “Mix” magazine, Alan is not in studio recording his next full length CD following the 1975 release of “Ramshackled”. He has been collaborating with members of Merkaba and playing on some of the new music they are recording for the new Merkaba CD, which will hopefully be available in early 2004.

The store is open! Alan has partnered with Entertainer Stores to create a line of unique merchandise adorned with Alan's own logo. Alan has personally selected each item in the store for its design and quality. Visit the store by clicking on the link above. Entertainer Stores has also recently launched a store for Steve Howe, and will soon launch a store for Chris Squire.

Spencer Davis has had to cancel his northwest appearance scheduled for tomorrow, August 26TH. In his place, Alan is forming the Above Average White Band, featuring Alan and Reek Havok (percussion), Steve Boyce (bass, vocals), Kevin Currie (vocals) and Ted Stockwell (keys) from MerKaBa, Roger Fisher (guitar), formerly of Heart, Jim Cliff (bass), formerly with Richard Marx, Janet Foos (keys), Aury Moore (vocals) and Goldy McJohn (keys), formerly with Steppenwolf. The band is scheduled to take the stage at 7 pm. Other invited guests may join the jam, so stop by- you never know who may show up!

Regrettably, Alan will not be performing with MerKaBa this weekend in Issaquah, due to another personal engagement. Alan will be appearing with Spencer Davis on August 26, in Issaquah, Washington. See details here.

Any golfers out there? Alan is scheduled to take part in two upcoming charity events in the Seattle area. The first is KJR's StrokeFest on August 18TH, and the second is the Gary Crow Seafood Classic, on August 22ND. Visit the respective sites for signup information.

Alan would like to extend his appreciation to the Swedish Yes Society, especially Torbjörn Häggmark and Göran Wallby, as well as all Swedish Yes fans, for the nice reception this month in Sweden.

While in Cardiff, Wales, Alan was very pleased to see an old friend in the crowd- Geoff Downes.

Alan's son, Jesse, has formed an group called The ELIZA Effect. They have released a couple of tracks to the web, which have made the top ten (peaking at 8) for Soundclick's download charts.



On May 21ST, Alan gave a clinic at Full Sail Real World Education, in Orlando Florida, backed by the band Stormbringer. Later that week, Alan joined the Stormbringer on stage at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island in Orlando.

An article about Alan's flight with the Blue Angels appears in the current issue of Boeing's Frontiers Magazine.

Alan will be joining Spencer Davis for two shows this summer: August 26TH, 7-8:30 at the Issaquah Community Center Lawn and August 27TH, 8:30-10:30 at Swiss Pub, in Tacoma, Washington. Joining the band will be Roger Fisher on guitar (formerly with Heart) Jim Cliff on bass (formerly with Richard Marx), Janet Foos on keys and Reek N. Havok on percussion.

The world record event was a huge success with over 250 drummers taking part. For the event, Alan brought out his unique glass and brass kit. Pictures and video of the event are online here.

On March 26th, Alan will be appearing on the Bob River's show on KZOK-FM in Seattle to promote an upcoming event where over 100 drummers will attempt to set a new Guiness World Record on March 29th, from 1-3PM at the Tacoma (Washington) Narrows Airport. Gerard Schwarz, music director for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra will be conducting the group. The event is being organized by Donn Bennett. Proceeds will go towards the battle against polio. "AWESOME!" is how Alan described his 35 minute flight with the US Navy Blue Angels last Saturday. Alan flew for approximately 35 minutes in an FA-18. Images and movies are here.

For the upcoming tour, Alan will be sporting a new drumkit from Ludwig. The basic black kit will be replaced with a new Super Classic kit with a one-of-a-kind rainbow sparkle finish.

On Saturday, February 1, Alan will be flying with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels at their winter training facility in El Centro, CA. Pictures and video will be available here as soon as possible after the flight.

Alan will be joining The Ventures February 3RD thru 7TH on a cruise from Los Angeles to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. Alan will conduct a drum clinic aboard the boat on Thursday 6TH, and will also be playing with The Ventures "All Star Band" which will include The Ventures, Skunk Baxter from the Doobie Brothers and Jeff Cook from Alabama.
