On Saturday, June 8TH, Alan and Gigi celebrated their 20TH wedding anniversary, at a private party. Party-goers were encouraged to dress in a wedding-party motif, and the happy couple arrived by seaplane wearing the same clothes they wore on their wedding day. Incriminating photos may be posted at a later date.

It's the first Monday of April, and you know what that means: It's EMP night again. See you all down there at 9 PM in the Liquid Lounge.

Alan (along with elements of Reek Havok's EMP Pot Luck Orchestra), will be performing in support of Aury Moore, who will be debuting her new CD on Tuesday, April 16 at 7:30 PM. The event will be held at Funsters Grand Casino, 15221 Pacific Highway (about one mile north of SeaTac Airport). Tickets are $12 at the door, which includes a copy of the CD. Aury has performed at the Issaquah Music Festival and at Salmon Days as the back up singer for Spencer Davis and others.

March Update:
Alan will be participating in a round table discussion tomorrow at Bennett Drum Studio in Bellevue, Washington from 3-5 p.m. The invitation-only event, which was Alan's idea, is designed to give up-and-coming drum students the opportunity to learn about the real-world experiences of a professional drummer. This is the first of the series. For inquiries about future events, please contact Donn Bennett (phone 425.747.6145).

Alan was in Los Angeles this week. He, along with Chris Squire, has contributed to the Pink Floyd tribute project currently being produced by Billy Sherwood along with Bob Kulick. Alan, Chris and Billy, along with Yes' manager Jordan Berliant on accoustic guitar, performed 'Comfortably Numb.' Alan says that it's quite different from the original,, and sounds "really, really good."

March Alan jams on 'Hey Joe'
Alan performed with Reek Havok's Electro-magnetic Potluck Orchestra last month at EMP, performing on such songs as 'Good Times Bad Times' and 'Hey Joe' (featuring Eddy Ferguson on bass and vocals, Jammin' Joe Polito on lead guitar and David Ritt, principal trombonist for the Seattle Symphony, performing what may be the first ever trombone solo on Hey Joe). Incidentally, David was part of the Seattle orchestra during last summer's YesSymphonic Tour.

Alan is joining MerKaBa in the studio this month to continue work on their new project, and is contributing several songs. Track list will include What Love Is (a video is planned for this as well), Shapes In The Clouds, Respect For Love, Dangerous Highway, Tribute (their version of the three Beatles songs: Within You Without You, It's All Too Much, Tomorrow Never Knows), Love Will Always Return, If I am The Dreamer, Love Is Long, & Burn All The Maps. Several more tracks are planned - including at least one that they're co-writing with Alan.

Alan was off skiing last week and will be answering all of the Forum questions soon. Keep 'em coming.

To the officers and crew of the USS Carl Vinson, Alan and his family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for a job well-done, and a hearty Welcome Home!

Correction: Alan is scheduled to appear at EMP's Liquid Lounge as part of Reek Havok's Electro-magnetic Potluck Orchestra on Monday, February 4TH, at around 9 pm. It was originally reported as being February 5TH. Henceforth, the event will be the first Monday of every other month.

In January, Alan appeared with MerKaBa for several concerts in Issaquah, Washington. They performed many songs from their first disc, as well as a few tracks from their upcoming, as yet untitled, CD, which Alan has contributed a couple of compositions, as well as performances.

Another highlight of the show was the first-ever sawing of Gigi White in half by magician Steffan Soule, during the second set.

Alan is continuing his partnership with Reek Havok as Crash & Bang (it remains unclear as to which one is 'crash' and which is 'bang'. Look for a new website to be unveiled soon at soundsamazing.com

Also while at NAMM, Alan was interviewed by Mike Tiano for the upcoming YES DVD release. He and Larry Groupe are scheduled to tape another interview in Seattle for the DVD, sometime during the second week of February.



January
Alan, along with Jon and Chris, will make an appearance at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 8TH & 9TH as guests of XM Radio, the satellite radio service. They will be signing autographs and greeting fans at the XM booth. More details will be posted at YesWorld as they become available.

Alan will also be making appearances for Ludwig & Zildjian at the winter NAMM show on January 18TH at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Los Angeles. He will be at the Ludwig booth at 1 PM and the Zildjian booth at 3 PM.

If you're in the Seattle-area, Alan will be continuing his appearances at EMP on the first Monday of every other month (schedule permitting), beginning February 4TH in the Liquid Lounge.

Alan will be appearing with MerKaBa on Jaunary 11TH and 25TH at Illusionz in Issaquah. Tickets are $10 & $15 at Illusionz Magical Entertainment Center 1025 NW Gilman Blvd, Issaquah (425) 427-2444. Show begins at 9:00 PM.
