October
Alan will be conducting a drum clinic on Saturday, October 6, at the Hollywood Custom and Vintage Drum Show. Tickets are $12 at the door. Details are available at the clinic's web site.

On Monday, October 1, Alan performed in the Liquid Lounge at EMP with Steve Boyce and Kevin Currie from MerKaBa as well as a few other local musicians.

On Wednesday October 3, Alan appeared on Bob Rivers Twisted Tunes on KZOK in Seattle, where he played 'Don't Go' from Magnification. Listen in to Part 1 and Part 2.


September
Alan performing with  Spencer Davis last summerWhile on break from touring with YES, Alan will once again be performing with The Spencer Davis Group on October 7th at the Issaquah Salmon Days Festival.

Also in the band will be Jim Cliff (formerly with Richard Marx) on bass, Roger Fisher (formerly with Heart) on guitar, Janet Foos on keys, Aury Moore singing back up vocals and (last but most certainly not least) the illustrious Mr. Reek N. Havok on percussion.

The show starts at 4:30- hope to see you there.



August
Notes From the Edge has just released an extensive interview with Alan regarding his work with John Lennon and the other members of The Beatles.

The white Ludwig kit that Alan used on 90125 and Big Generator was on display at the Issaquah Music Festival in Issaquah Washington (held the first weekend in August). The kit is now back at Donn Bennetts Drum Studio in Bellevue, Washington (See February 2000 news for more info). Speaking of drums, Alan's glass Orlich drum kit is now on display at EMP in Seattle. (See May 2000 news for more details) Look for it on the second floor near the stairway leading to the gift shop.

Alan and YES are continuing with their hugely successful YesSymphonic Tour across North America.

Alan and the other members of YES are currently on tour.


June
While on haitus from YES, Alan is once again working with Merkaba. He has recorded several tracks and has contributed compositions as well as performance.

In early June, Alan was in attendance for the Seattle show by Bill Bruford's Earthworks. Alan and Bill stopped for a brief picture after the first set (at right).

May
Alan with John Cleese "And now for something completetly different..." During a break in recording, Alan hangs out at the studio with Monty Python alum John Cleese, who had stopped by to record a voice-over for a commercial.

With recording of the new YES project complete, Alan took a short break before returning to Trevor Horn's Los Angeles studio to take part in the mixing process, which they hope to have complete by the end of May.

Alan takes the helmEnjoying a day off During breaks from recording, Alan, producer Tim Wiedner and guitar tech Richard Davis could often be found sailing off the California coast.

Alan, Jon, Steve and Chris are now together in California, working on the latest YES project. Details will be available at YesWorld as they become available.


February
Alan, along with Eddie Money, Mark Langston and Don Cromwell will be performing aboard the United States Navy carrier, U.S.S. CARL VINSON on Friday, February 16TH. The band will be flown out to the carrier, which is stationed roughly 125 miles off the southern coast of California, where they will be the guests of the crew for the evening. After the show, Alan and the gang have been invited to observe flight operations, followed by a catapult launch on Saturday morning for the flight back to shore.

While on break from YES, Alan has completed some session work with Merkaba, for their upcoming release, due later this year.

In January, Alan and Gigi White White took part in the 11TH annual Charlie Daniels Jam to benefit The Angelus. Alan and Gigi wish to thank all whom came out to support this worthy cause, and also those who made the event possible. Stay tuned for some pictures from Alan's personal scrapbook.

The Gallery is growing- new pics of Alan with his Mum, May White, and one of Alan with Reek Havok and Trevor Rabin, who was in Seattle last fall to record the sound track for The Sixth Day.

Alan and Jon will be appearing at the 11th Annual Charlie Daniels/Suncoast Eye Center Celebrity Golf Classic and Angelus Jam January 19TH-22ND, 2001 in Clearwater, Florida, which benefits The Angelus.


The Angelus, founded in 1979, is a home for severely handicapped persons who are not able to care for themselves. All of the residents and students have cerebral palsy and all use wheelchairs. For more information, visit The Angelus homepage.
