On Saturday, February 1, 2003, Alan took a VIP flight with the US Navy Blue Angels, at their winter training base at El Centro Naval Air Facility, about 130 miles east of San Diego, California.

Alan flew with Lt. Craig "Merlin" Olson, from Kirkland, Washington, for approximately 35 minutes. During the flight, Lt. Olson took Alan though many of the team's famous airshow maneuvers, including flying inverted at 200 feet above the desert floor, flying just under the speed of sound, assorted rolls, dives and high speed turns—at one point pulling over 6 Gs (Alan didn't pass out, either).

Click here to see a 3 minute movie taken inside the cockpit, as Alan flies at the speed of sound. (Warning: ~15MB Windows Media File)

Alan would like to thank the United States Navy, the Blue Angels, Lt. Craig Olson, Lt. Mike Blankenship and Cmdr. Jack Papp (ret.) for arranging this once in a lifetime experience.

PS- And if you are wondering— no, he didn't get sick.
